I created this sculpture because, in addition to creating my art, I also cared for my children and husband. It was all so natural for me to do this work. The response to this invisible but important task was that people told me I wasn’t working? Because everyone was working outside the home and that was considered real work. I didn’t understand the lack of understanding towards my work as an artist and mother. But the comments did hurt me. After years of receiving such comments, I transformed those comments into this sculpture dress for Queen Mum in 2014. As a tribute to all mothers and queens of family life.
